Recreational/Grassroots | U5-U8

Come enjoy our Fall Recreational/Grassroots program, specifically designed for children in the U5-U8 age groups.  Our in-house program focuses primary on individual development and fun, with home matches each Saturday providing a fun weekly finale.

Birth Years: 2021-2018

  • Age Groups: Players are divided into two different age groups based on birth year

  • U6 will contain players born in 2020 and 2021

  • U8 will contain players born in 2018 and 2019

Registration Cost/Dates:

  • $200.00 ($25 rebate available when 5 family volunteer hours are completed)

  • Early Bird Discount of $15 for registrations completed before June 1, 2025

  • Late Registrations will have a charge of $15 applied when completed after June 30, 2025

  • Final Registration Date: July 15, 2025  (Please contact us after this date.  We will do our best to accommodate, subject to team roster sizes.)

Program Focus:

  • Teach the game fundamentals with the focus on individual development

  • Develop foundational skills to help them progress in the game

  • Foster a passion for the game

  • Coached by supportive and enthusiastic parent volunteers

  • Coaching education/curriculum provided by Natomas FA Director of Coaching and Sac Republic FC

Program Details:

  • 10 week program (1-2 practices per week, 1 match each Sat)

  • 4v4 format

  • 40 minute games (no referees, no goalkeepers, all focus on field play and development)

  • All matches against other Natomas FA teams, all played at Foot Park, at the corner of Crest and Danbrook.

  • 1 hour training sessions

  • Uniform: $$ TBD (required purchase if player does not have the Natomas FA U9-U19 Grassroots uniform from 2023/2024) 

  • Ball (Size 3) - all players will need a ball for practices, either purchased during registration or purchased from any store

Timeline Fall 2025:

  • Registration Opens: May 1, 2025

  • Early Bird Discount ($15) through May 31, 2025.

  • Registration Closes: June 30, 2025

  • Late registrations (July 1 and later) will incur a $15 late fee.  Placement is subject to roster space and coaching availability.

  • Teams are formed and coaching needs identified: July 2025

  • Recreational Coaches Meeting: TBD (late July/early August)

  • Team Rosters Posted and Practices Begin: August 2025

  • First matches begin late August/early Sept 2025

  • Final matches played at the beginning of Nov 2025.
