Grassroots Team Rosters

In soccer, similar to school, players learn at different rates and thrive in a variety of different environments. We have created systems here at Natomas FA to ensure every coach is equipped with everything they need to help the players learn, improve, and have fun whilst playing soccer. Our U5-U8 coaches are provided access to a variety of coaching sessions to choose from provided by Natomas FA and/or Sacramento Republic.  Having professionally designed coaching sessions readily available ensures that all of our players are learning similar age specific concepts no matter which 'team' they are placed on.  We are actively looking to have similar sessions in place for our U9-U19 coaches this season.

We understand that playing with a new coach and new teammates can be intimidating; however, playing with different teammates and different coaches each year also gives our players the opportunity to step outside of their comfort zones. Our players will now be learning in slightly different environments and will be making new friends every season.  This model is similar to the school model where a child will have a new teacher and new classmates every year. This change also promotes a different facet to competition where our players will have the opportunity to play against some of their previous teammates and current friends which is a lot of fun!

Our Mission Statement is "Everyone plays Soccer" and the Club's philosophy is to create a community based soccer club that can be enjoyed by all and extends beyond a handful of players and one coach. The recreational program is built on a fun and stress free environment so the idea is to spread the talent of players and coaches equitably across all of our teams in each age group. With this approach players will have played with 30 to 40 different players of the same age in just 2 to 3 seasons with Natomas FA.  By the time our players are U9 and up, our intention and hope, is they will have created bonds with players and coaches across all of the recreational teams.

It is important to note that most players will also continuously rotate due to the fact that the program and NorCal leagues are split between 2 ages e.g. 2014 born players will remain 7v7 whereas 2013 born players will move to 9v9 this fall.  Our competitive program is moving to a model of rotating a coach between teams every 2-3 years per US Soccer's recommendation. Whereas our recreational and competitive programs have different functions within our club, it is our hope for both programs to function cohesively and support similar philosophies.

We thank you for your understanding as we seek to give our best effort in providing a fun and safe environment for your child to play soccer.
